our fermented postbiotic strains

L. Plantarum belongs to the Lactobacillus family of bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria convert sugars into lactic acid and hydrogen peroxide, substances that inhibit the growth of undesirable bacteria in the intestines. L. plantarum specifically has been shown to help induce an immune response that may protect the body from pathogenic bacteria or infectious diseases. It has also been observed to provide benefits for IBS patients, mainly due to normalisation of stool and can relieve abdominal pain. In addition, L. Plantarum has been observed to sharpen memory, enhance athletic performance, and promote weight loss.

L. Salivarius specifically has been used to prevent and treat a variety of chronic diseases, including asthma, dermatitis and halitosis. To a lesser extent it has also been seen to prevent or treat infections. L. salivarius can also help improve bacterial populations in the mouth, reducing the development of gum plaque. It’s also shown to increase resistance to the risk factors for dental cavaties. This improves bad breath and reduces the risk of periodontitis causing gums to bleed. Even smokers have been shown to benefit from salivarius.

L. Acidophilus has antimicrobial and antiviral properties and may help to prevent colds, viruses, and even allergies. Acidophilus balances potentially harmful bacteria that can otherwise flourish in the gut due to illness or antibiotics. Studies have also shown it may also help reduce vaginal inflammation and balance the flora in the vagina, helping to prevent yeast infections. In addition, L. Acidophilus has been observed to help reduce cholesterol, prevent and treat depression and help to prevent C. difficile-associated diarrhoea, a type of severe diarrhoea that often affects older adults.

B. Longum infantis belongs to the Bifidobacterium family of bacteria and has been demonstrated to predominate in the gut microbiota of breastfed infants and to benefit the host by accelerating maturation of the immune response, balancing the immune system to suppress inflammation, improving intestinal barrier function, and increasing acetate production. Bifidobacterium Longum infantis can help to relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, such as abdominal pain, gas and bloating. It may also help to reduce levels of inflammation in patients with ulcerative colitis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and psoriasis.
